Community-Curated Resources Are Here!

We're thrilled to announce a new chapter for Valley Inclusive Play Space: we're officially launching community-sourced resources on our website!

This means anyone can now submit helpful articles, guides, toolkits, or resources through our new submission form. Whether you're a student, educator, caregiver, or advocate, your voice matters here. Our mission has always been about building a more inclusive world together, and this new feature is one way we're making that happen.

We want to take a moment to thank Mrs. Kathy Glover and her community outreach class for inspiring this launch. Earlier this spring, her students reached out to share an incredible resource about how libraries can better support autistic individuals. Their thoughtful email reminded us exactly why we do this work: because when people are empowered to contribute, everyone benefits.

Their submission was timely, thoughtful, and aligned beautifully with our values. We're so excited to share it with you as our very first community-contributed feature:

Autism-Friendly Library Programs (All Ages)
Public libraries across the country are becoming powerful allies in inclusion for autistic individuals. This guide highlights sensory-friendly storytimes, quiet hours, caregiver workshops, and inclusive programming developed by libraries like Plano Public Library and New York City branches. It also includes actionable strategies for creating welcoming spaces, from lighting and signage to communication tools. A valuable read for families, educators, and advocates looking to build connection and access beyond the classroom.

This is just the beginning. Between our weekly ABCs of Connection blog series, resource center updates, and growing community engagement, there's something new happening at VIPS every week. We believe in the power of collective knowledge, and we're so excited to see what else you'll share with us.
